Good solid built dashcam. Compact & great video quality. App works well, however the device is limited by its activation technic: Device + app needs a OTP to be send via sms text, but only a few countries are supported. As UAE resident, I was lucky enough to be able to use my NL phone number, otherwise I was unable to use the dashcam. If i remember correctly, only about 10 countries were supported.
UPDATE:
Miofive support contacted me in regards to the problem I discovered and they updated the app to include the UAE country code for the sms OTP activation. I do hope they will come with an alternative option for all other countries who yet need to be included. Upgraded my review from 3 to a 4 star (I’d given a 4,5 star if i could).
Kudos to the service team of Miofive of being pro-active.

I was about to buy my third of this camera after recently adding a new car to the garage and realized I haven’t reviewed it. Obviously, I like it given I’ve bought multiple, but I want to ensure folks know why.
Previous reviews have done a great job of providing an overview of the product and features, so I won’t repeat any of that.
What really shined for me was the support I received when I had a problem with one that I had for several months. It stopped working properly, so I reached out to their Support team. A quick response and some brief troubleshooting gave the person with which I was working enough information to know the camera failed. He immediately shipped me a new unit and it arrived two days later. The turnaround time and entire experience was perfect.
Ultimately, electronics can and do fail. Buying from a company that stands behind what it sells and provides superior support when something goes wrong is worth a ton to me.

The instructions were vague about how the clear static window sticker was to be used in the install. I had to dig around on the manufacture’s website ultimately finding guidance on the FAQ page:
. The sticker goes on the windshield then the camera mounts to the sticker.
This allows you to remove and reposition the mounting base and adjust it in the event that the initial install was misaligned. Additionally, it could be easily removed from one car then mounted onto the windshield of another car.
The manufacture’s technical support seems OK but I haven’t had a need to utilize it. One thing I would like to see is the the availability of extra mounting bases offered for sale on the manufacture’s website. Suppose a customer installs the mounting base directly to the windshield rather than the static sticker. That person would need to use a scraper to remove it from the glass, clean off the old adhesive from the base, then apply new adhesive so as to mount it to a different windshield. That’s a PITA.
Other than the issues mentioned above and, of course, routing the wire under the window trim to have everything look tidy, the installation was easy.
I assess the camera to be ideal for my application. The camera is small enough to be tucked up behind the rearview mirror so as to not pose any driver visibility issues. Other than the wire, it’s not obvious, let alone obtrusive. The WIFI interface functions as advertised and the camera is certainly not lacking in features.

I ordered the camera and the Miofive hardwire kit and had both delivered the following morning. Install is pretty simple if you can read and follow directions and are comfortable checking voltages with a multimeter to make sure you’re using the right fuse slots. I think the installation took me a total of an hour including disassembling some trim pieces to hide the wire.
Unfortunately, my unit shipped with a factory defect causing the touch buttons to actuate at random while driving, switching the camera into playback mode and stopping recording (not a great thing for a dashcam to do). I contacted the support department through the email in the manual, and Franklin, the representative talked to, got back to me the same day, offered a no-charge replacement, and had it at my doorstep just over 24 hours later. Utterly flawless customer service, and a hell of a product too. 4k, parking mode, time lapse mode and Wi-Fi connectivity for 150 bucks. I’ve had a few dashcams over the years and so far this is easily the best value I’ve found.

The quality of videos is fantastic and so are the overlay features. One drawback is the fact you have to connect to the camera’s Wi-Fi to be able to download videos.I.e you can’t have the camera on a shared Wi-Fi network with your phone and home wifi which is annoying

This is a great camera, the wide angle reach must be at least 100 feet. My first 4K camera did not know what to expect but the camera qualtiy is crisp and clear. The convenience of having everything from settings to access to video on your phone was a major plus for me.
At first it was frustration I could not access the videos or settings on my phone with constant lost connection always coming up, but common sense clicked in and I turned off data connection as it connects via wifi.
Be sure to attach the supplied square clear shock absorter to your window and not attach directly to window as it is like superglue strong and could damage your window if you try to move and adjust your camera during calibration.
One con was the sensitivity of the emergency recording incase of sudden stopping or impact, even on the lowest setting I found even a small bump in the road would activate it which even to work 3 miles I got 4 of them so I had to turn it off completely.
Overall I do like this dash cam, it does have parling mode that even with car turned off no power basically it does capture movement and will capture it. Happy with my purchase 5 stars

Very impressed so far, well built, discrete and video seems V high quality Easy to fit although monitor ends up hidden behind rear-view mirror and so easiest to control via app.
